Day One: Start of Our Missionary Journey, Touching Down in Peru
Day One: The Adventure Begins
It was an early start for our first day of adventure. We gathered at the church at 9 AM, ready for the long missionary journey ahead.
From there, we hopped on a flight from Orlando to Panama. We had a two-hour layover to stretch our legs, grab a snack, and soak in the travel vibes before catching our next flight to Lima, Peru.
The Start
We are at the Orlando airport. Next stop is Panama. I am holding my Edu-gator. He is a little traveling buddy that will show up at different times throughout the trip. He will report back to the school I work with about my summer travels…fun.

Flying Over The Panama Canal
Landed in Panama
for a two-hour layover.

Landed in Peru

Head check. All of us are here. Now we are off to the hotel.

Arrival in Lima
We touched down in Lima at 10:45 PM, feeling both exhausted and excited. The night was quiet, and after a few moments of excitement over finally arriving, we all snuggled in for a well-deserved rest. Tomorrow would bring more travel, but for now, we were content to sleep and recharge for the next leg of the journey—Pucallpa.
Sky Views Courtesy of Kristy
Oh, and about those photos from the air? I didn’t have a window seat on the plane (sad, I know), but Kristy was kind enough to share some of her stunning shots as we soared above the clouds. She caught the Panama Canal from the air, so you can still get a glimpse of what we saw from up there. I also used photos from others in our team.
